The Municipality of Thames Centre, Ontario, Canada was formed on January 1, 2001 when the townships of West Nissouri and North Dorchester were amalgamated; despite its official name, it technically remains a township.

Communities:
Dorchester is the residential and commercial core of the township. Every year, there are many events held in Dorchester. There is the Dorchester Fair, the Dorchester Car Show, the Dave Clarke Memorial Run, Friday Night Tradition and many more. Also, there are many places where celebrations can be held, such as anniversary parties and Stag and Does. These include the Dorchester Arena and the Optimist Hall. Also, the Scouts organizations in Canada and the USA hold a "brotherhood camp" called the DIBC (Dorchester International Brotherhood Camporee), which attracts as many as 4000 scouts and girl guides/scouts from Canada and the US. The camp is held annually on Mother's Day weekend.
