Situated in the central part of Southwestern Ontario, Thames Centre is surrounded by Lake Huron to the north, Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to the east, Lake Erie to the south, and the Detroit, Michigan, United States, border to the west. There are three major United States border crossings within a two hour drive of Thames Centre.
Within an one hour drive there are a mix of mid sized urban cities with diverse cultural populations, as well as a number of smaller towns and flourishing agricultural communities. Thames Centre's close proximity to the City of London, population 350,000, and 401 Ontario Highway has stimulated considerable growth, both residentially and commercially in the prime settlement regions: Dorchester and Thorndale.
Residents enjoy affordable homes in safe communities, with one of the more moderate climates of the country, and there are many various opportunities for businesses in our five industrial/business areas within the Municipality.
