DORCHESTER PLAYGROUND PROGRAM
Once again plans are being made to run the Dorchester Playground Program. This program which will be held July 5th until August 27th , runs from 9:00 a.m. until 3:30p.m. - including a supervised lunch period. The program is held at the Dorchester Arena. Children who have completed Senior Kindergarten by June 30, 2010 up to grade seven from the Municipality of Thames Centre come together to take part in a variety of games, crafts, sports, trips, and a carnival, along with many other fun activities.
This program has been provided for many years with the idea in mind that it is not a Day Care Service but a program for children to come together and have fun. They can come as often as they like whether it is every day or once or twice a week. It is their program, but children are not permitted to leave the program without a parent's permission.
Registration will take place on April 20tht at the Dorchester Arena from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. We ask that if you would like your child to participate in the program that you register at this time, as there is a limited number for some groups. A late fee of $15.00 will be charged after May 1st. We need to know numbers in order to hire the required number of supervisors (which has to be done in May) and so proper planning and preparation can be made before the starting date, July 5th.
PLEASE NOTE: Because this is a locally sponsored program, children must live in the Municipality of Thames Centre in order to participate. If a parent works in Dorchester, their children will be permitted to attend the program. We have another increase in the minimum wage, so we have to raise the fees to cover wages as we had a shortfall last year.
The fee structure is as follows:
1st Session Julu 5th - July 30th - $300.00 per child per session
2nd Session August 3rd – August 27th - $300.00 per child per session
Or both sessions for $600.00 per child
Family Rate - (3 or more children) $290.00 per child per month
LATE FEES - $15.00 will be charged after May 1st.
Fees can be paid in full at registration, or a deposit of $50.00 per child and the balance paid by post dated cheque for June 15th. The postdated cheque should be given with the registration form. We ask for cheques only and a receipt will be given in your information package, which should be picked up from the arena on June 30th and July 2nd .
Any day trips or special events which includes the use of buses etc. will have an extra fee to cover the expense of the event. More information will be available in your package

- Birth Certificate. (for children in grade one)
- Cheque for payment or deposit and post dated cheque for balance (dated June 15)
- Recent small photo for each child with name on back (school picture ideal)
The program is supplemented by funding from the Kinsmen Club, Lions Club, Optimist Club and the Municipality of Thames Centre, therefore the fees are considerably less than similar programs.

BEFORE & AFTER PROGRAM -Once again we will run an extended program from 7:30 - 9:00 and 3:30 - 5:30. Fees will be required in advance (by June 15th, 2010 – post dated cheque) and they will be non-refundable as we must pay for the staff whether children attend or not. A separate form is required for this program.
COST - 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. $130.00 per month per family
3:30 - 5:30 p.m. $170.00 per month per family
BOTH before and after -$300.00 per month COST IS PER FAMILY
FORMS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE LEDGE AT THE ARENA AFTER APRIL 10TH.
LEADER’S IN TRAINING: - This is for students who have completed grade 8 or 9 and who would like to volunteer. After June 10th, there will be information on the ledge at the arena. Volunteer hours will be applied after the responsibilities have been met.

Dorchester Community Centre March Break Program
March 15 - 19, 2010
Once again the community centre facilities have been acquired to run a program for children who will require supervision. Staff will be hired to provide care for children between Grade one to Grade 7. Our program will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and would begin Monday, March 15th until March 19th, 2010. This Municipal sponsored program, will include crafts, games, outdoor play (a.m. and p.m.), skating and a supervised lunch period.
As this program does not have any funding available, a fee of $100.00 per week with $50.00 for each additional child per family will be charged to cover the cost of supervisors.

Dorchester Arena lobby
If you are interested, registration will be held Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Dorchester Arena lobby at 6:30 p.m. - 8:00. Further information can be obtained by contacting 519-268-7872. Registration forms will be available from the arena lobby ledge outside the office door after Feb 1st.
Please make sure you register by this date as staff has to be hired and many students book jobs well in advance.
We must have a minimum of 15 children to run the program.
