TRAILS AND CYCLING IN THAMES CENTRE

Draft Thames Centre Trails & Cycling Master Plan - Part 1

Draft Thames Centre Trails & Cycling Master Plan - Part 2

Background:

Trails and cycling routes play an important role in our community by providing active transportation choices, allowing us to engage in physical activity and healthy lifestyles, to interact with one another, to appreciate our natural environment, and to connect to key destinations.

The Municipality of Thames Centre has been undertaking a Trails & Cycling Master Plan to guide the development of future trails and cycling routes to meet the needs of our residents. The Master Plan will provide a strategy for trail and cycling routing, design, construction, maintenance, and promotion, ultimately providing a roadmap for building Thames Centre’s active transportation network.

Specifically, the Plan will focus on:

  • Identifying a ten-year development strategy for municipal trails and cycling routes, with a focus on non-motorized active transportation within Dorchester and Thorndale
  • Identifying where municipal trails and cycling routes may be located and what amenities they require
  • Establishing design guidelines and policy considerations

In order to ensure that the Plan is truly responsive of the needs of the residents in Thames Centre, we want to hear from you! In the coming months, there will be a variety of ways for the community and stakeholders to participate, including:

1) The Online Community Survey is now complete. Thanks for your input!

2) The Community  Public Meeting has all been held. Thank you for your participation!

3)  A Public Meeting / Open House was held on Wednesday Sept 16th  2015 to present and receive feedback on the Draft Trails & Cycling Master Plan.
