Council Highlights - December 8, 2025

Council Highlights are now available!

Highlights from Monday include:

• Wastewater Rates Frozen next year
• Water Rates increasing 2.5%
• No decision made on the 2026 tax levy
  • (The decision will be made following receipt of a Council-requested report scheduled to be received at the January 12 meeting).

The budget features new capital projects including:

• Adding a new sidewalk plow in November 2026
• $1,955,690 in new road improvements
• A new speed radar sign
• Funding for the CANUSA rink replacement
• A new wading pool in Dorchester Community Park
• Funding for improvements to local trails and playgrounds
• Funding to revitalize playing surfaces for baseball fields and tennis/pickleball courts

The budget also includes additional funding to add more staffing days in Thorndale, so that Thorndale residents can access municipal services 4 days a week (instead of 3).
