Economic Development Grant Awarded to ADORN Medical

ADORN Medical Aesthetics & Wellness Receives Over $2,500 from
Thames Centre’s Community Improvement Plan Grant

THAMES CENTRE – The Municipality of Thames Centre has awarded a Community Improvement Plan (CIP) Grant to ADORN Medical Aesthetics & Wellness for $2,534.59.

This Community Improvement Plan grant was provided to help improve commercial signage at their building at 15 Jane Street.

"We are very grateful that funding opportunities like the CIP Grant exist in Thames Centre,” said Brandi Poels, Owner of ADORN. “After submitting our application, the funding has been a positive help to us and is essential for the success of small businesses trying to flourish."

The Thames Centre Community Improvement Plan encourages economic revitalization and development. It provides financial incentives, such as grants and loans, to eligible landowners and tenants for property improvements.

“When we invest in our local businesses, we strengthen our community,” says Councillor Chantel Crockett. “I’d love to see more businesses take advantage of the CIP Grants for their improvement projects, so I encourage owners to look into the details for applying in 2026.”

Thames Centre CIP Grants

Grants are available for several types of projects, including improving accessibility, energy efficiency, landscaping, tourism diversification, and developing on-farm retail services.

Continuation of the CIP Grant program was approved by Council during their December 8 meeting. The first round of 2026 CIP Grants applications will be reviewed in February 2026.

“Business owners can apply with a description of their proposal, and two quotes for the cost of the project,” notes Amanda Storrey, Director of Planning and Development Services at Thames Centre. “The application deadline for the next intake of CIP Grant applications is February 6, 2026, and can be submitted to planning@thamescentre.on.ca for review.”

Middlesex County is providing $1,267.30 to the Municipality of Thames Centre, covering half the cost of their contribution to the project.

“Middlesex County recognizes the importance of partnering with existing local businesses,” says Cara Finn, Director of Economic Development for Middlesex County. “We support each of our municipalities who have developed Community Improvement Plans to strategically invest in projects that support the economic development priorities of the local community and Middlesex County.”
