Notice of Abandoned Lot - Dorchester Union Cemetery
In accordance with the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, The Corporation of the Municipality of Thames Centre, Owner and Operator of the “Dorchester Union Cemetery” (located at 2251 Dorchester Road in Dorchester), has made an application to the Registrar, Bereavement Authority of Ontario, for a declaration that unused interment rights are abandoned.
The lot and name of the original purchaser affected by this application are:

If you are related to the above person and retain documentation to demonstrate such relation, please contact the Municipality by Friday, March 27, 2026.

If no contact is made by this date and upon approval of the Registrar, Bereavement Authority of Ontario as permitted in accordance with the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002, the Municipality will proceed to reclaim the vacant lot. Should the legal owner(s), heir(s), and/or representative(s) associated with the lot come forward at a later date, they do have the right to redress and should contact the Cemetery Operator as soon as possible.
