Thorndale Community Gardens - Apply for Space Today!

After countless hours volunteered by Cass Stewart to maintain the Thorndale Community Gardens, last year this site transitioned into a location where Thames Centre residents could apply to get their own plot of garden space for their use.
If interested in an exclusive space for 2026, please email or call Steve MacDonald by Sunday April 19th at: smacdonald@thamescentre.on.ca or 519-268-7334 ext. 702
The Thorndale Community Gardens are located behind the Thorndale Library at 21790 Fairview Road.

Among other things, those selected to have a portion of the community garden space for 2026 shall:

  • Enter into an Agreement with the Municipality, for the 2026 season (contact Steve to see a full version of the Agreement in advance of expressing your interest if you wish).
  • Be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of their assigned garden space. This includes any/all material (including plants, fertilizer, yard waste bags) and labour (watering, weeding, bagging yard waste, clearing garden at end of season).

Among other things, the Municipal is responsible to:

  • Provide access to use of water along with a hose and nozzle.
  • Periodically removing yard waste bags.

Successful applicants will be notified as soon after the April 19th application deadline as possible.
