Burn Permits and Backyard Fires
To ensure public safety and minimize fire hazards, open burning must be done with the permission of the Thames Centre Fire Chief or designate, and in accordance with the Open Burning By-law. All residents must obtain a burn permit 24 hours before engaging in any open-air burning. Failure to comply with these regulations may result in fines.
Residents can apply for a burn permit online, in-person at the municipal office or FlightExec Centre (PDF version available here). The permit is valid for 7 days. Applicants must apply at least one full business day in advance of the desired burn date.
