Thames Centre is committed to being responsive to the needs of all its residents and employees.

In order to meet the needs of people with disabilities the Municipality will:

  • Ensure policies, practices and procedures address dignity, independence, integration and provide for equal opportunity for people with disabilities
  • Allow people with disabilities to use their own personal assistive devices to obtain, use or benefit from the services offered by the Municipality
  • Accommodate the accessibility needs of people with disabilities to ensure they can obtain, use or benefit from the Municipality's goods, services, programs and facilities
  • Communicate with people with disabilities in a manner that takes into account the person’s disability.

Accessibility Regulations for Contracted Services

In accordance with the Ontario Regulation 429/07, Accessibility Standards for Customer Service and Ontario Regulation 191/11, the Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation, the Municipality of Thames Centre is required to train all third parties or persons who provide goods, services or facilities on behalf of the organization.

Contracted services supplies are to ensure that training records are maintained, including dates when training is provided, the number of personnel who received training and individual training records. The suppliers are to ensure that this information is available to the Municipality of Thames Centre any time during the Term of the Contract.

Temporary Service Disruptions

If a temporary service disruption is planned, the Municipality will provide notice through our News and Public Notices page.

The notice will include:

  • The reason for the disruption
  • Its anticipated duration
  • A description of any alternative facilities or services available.

Accessibility for Employees

We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace, ensuring that all employment activities are accessible to everyone. The Municipality of Thames Centre strives to provide accommodations for current and prospective employees with disabilities, enabling full participation in every aspect of recruitment and employment. 


Emergency Plan

If requested, the Municipality will provide a copy of its Emergency Plan or emergency procedures in a format that considers the communication needs of the person with a disability.
