Filing a Nomination

Notice of Nomination for Office

Nominations for Office can be filed as of May 1, 2026 up to 2:00 p.m. on August 21, 2026.

Nominations must be filed in person at either location below:

Municipal Office

4305 Hamilton Road, Dorchester
Monday to Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Thorndale Lions Community Centre

265 Queen Street, Thorndale
Monday to Thursday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm

Required Forms

To file a nomination you will need to print out and complete the following forms:

• Nomination Form (Form 1)

• Endorsement of Nominations (Form 2)- candidates must have 25 original signatures from persons eligible to vote in Thames Centre.  It is recommended to get more than the minimum number.
  
  

Once the above forms are completed, you will need to come to the one of the locations to file your nomination in person. When you come you will require the following:

• Government Issued Photo ID

• If the qualifying address does not appear on the Photo ID, a lease or a bill with the persons name on it to confirm the qualifying address.

• Filing Fee - this can only be paid by Cash, Certified Cheque, money order or debit card. Fee for Mayor is $200 and all other races is $100.
  
  

Withdrawal of a Nomination

Candidates can withdraw their nomination by attending a nomination location in person and filing an official withdrawal of Nomination Form before 2:00 pm Friday August 21, 2026.
