Community Safety Update

Response to Recent Dog Incidents

The Municipality of Thames Centre is aware of the recent incident involving dogs at large and certainly share the concerns of the community. The safety and well-being of our residents is always one of our top priorities, and we are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness.

We are actively engaged on this matter and working closely with our Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) partners who have assigned the local Crime Unit to open an ongoing investigative file.

We understand the concern and fear that these incidents have generated within our community, and we want to assure residents that we are actively working to address the situation. In response to these incidents, we are implementing immediate measures to address public safety concerns. This includes increased patrols in affected areas, collaboration with OPP, By-Law Enforcement, Hillside Kennels Animal Control and enhanced public awareness campaigns to educate residents on how to stay safe around dogs.

Furthermore, we are committed to ongoing communication and transparency throughout this process. We will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available and remain available to address any questions or concerns from the public.
