Thorndale Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion
Schedule 'C' Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study
The Study
The Municipality of Thames Centre has retained Stantec Consulting Ltd. to complete a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to identify options for expansion of the Thorndale Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at 1135 Ideal Drive. The study area for the WWTP is shown on the key map.
The Thorndale WWTP provides municipal wastewater treatment to Thorndale. Expansion alternatives will be developed to address current needs and consider anticipated community growth.
The Process
The project will be undertaken in accordance with the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class EA document (as amended in 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2023) and will address the requirements of a Schedule 'C' EA.
Public Involvement
Details regarding opportunities for engagement as the study progresses, including Public Information Centres (PIC's), will be advertised in a local newspaper and on the municipal website: www.thamescentre.on.ca when available. Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report (ESR) will be prepared and placed on the public record for a minimum 30-day review period.
