JOINT STATEMENT: Thames Centre and CUPE Finalize New Collective Agreement

THAMES CENTRE - Thames Centre, Ontario, March 14, 2024 – Council has approved a Memorandum of Settlement which effectively renews a four-year Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 107, resulting in the ratification of a renewed Collective Agreement spanning the period from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027. This unanimous decision of Municipal Council comes after CUPE members ratified the agreement on March 1st, 2024. This agreement reflects a shared commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative working environment while ensuring seamless service delivery for the community.

Under this agreement, employees represented by CUPE Local 107 will remain in alignment with comparable wages, comprehensive benefits, as well as improved working conditions.

The negotiation process, characterized by open dialogue and mutual respect, has led to a contract that acknowledges the dedication and contributions of valued municipal employees representing various roles such as road operators, mechanics, community services and facilities personnel. Thames Centre and CUPE Local 107 look forward to implementing the terms of the new Collective Agreement, confident that it will contribute to a positive and productive working relationship throughout the contract period.
