Thames Centre Recognized as a Promising Investment Destination
Municipality of Thames Centre Featured in April 2025 Issue of Business View Magazine
THAMES CENTRE – The Municipality of Thames Centre has been featured in a new profile by Business View Magazine, which highlights why Thames Centre is a great place to live, and a great place to do business.
“Thames Centre is a great place for investment and would be a great home for all kinds of new businesses,” noted Mayor Sharron McMillan. “We have low taxes, access to London Airport and the Highway 401 trade corridor, and land zoned for industrial use that’s ready for development.”
In the April 2025 issue, the profile in Business View notes that Thames Centre has four Highway 401 interchanges, is positioned very close to the London International Airport, and has the lowest taxes in Middlesex County.
Business View Magazine has over 877,000 monthly subscribers across North America. The magazine covers news for executives, entrepreneurs, and the public sector, reporting on the latest advances in manufacturing, construction, infrastructure, supply chains, logistics, and municipal public works.
The magazine article also features details about the plentiful cultural and recreational options in our community, with specific mention of Royal Field and the recently renovated FlightExec Centre.
“Improving access to active living activities and recreational opportunities is a key part of our Strategic Plan,” said CAO David Barrick. “Thames Centre has been able to pursue expanded economic development, while offering residents exceptional recreational opportunities. We’re working on expanding our local economy, but we have also kept investing in revitalizing our roads and bridges, and improving our parks and playgrounds, to ensure that Thames Centre a great place to live.”
Since the interviews for the article, Thames Centre has also acquired land that will be used to develop new parklands, announced open house events on May 20 and May 22 to help shape a new Trails & Cycling Master Plan, and qualified for funding from the Government of Ontario that will allow for additional Active Living activities in Thorndale.
“The proof that Thames Centre is a great place to invest is in the new investments people have made in establishing new retail and industrial businesses,” noted Ward 1 Councillor Tom Heeman, who chairs the Economic Advisory Committee. “We’ve also created a Community Improvement Plan with grant opportunities to help attract and retain new businesses, and every fall we have our Support Local campaign to help people know more about the businesses in our community.”
